my personal logo design

walt; make a logo that says something about you.
so in reading we were coming up with a logo for our cluster but for a practice we had to make one for ourselves. for mine I had no clue what to do so it took me a while to figure out what to do :)

on the last slide was the logo that I choose for my final product. I made this logo because 'as' is my initials and the words inside the letters is some things that I like. I put the flowers in becaus ei use to really like gardening and I black and white because they are great colours ;)

please comment what you think of my final logo and what i could imporve on it :D

Bully free Slogn

In inquiry we have been working on bully free slogans for bully free week. We had to think up a slogan and  design a poster on google drawings. My slogan is a thing I saw in the internet but I changed up the words a bit and coloured it and stuff. All the things on my google drawing I made so I wont get copyrighted ;)
 
I found it hard finding good fonts and clour that wrok well together but I think I did a pretty good job. I also found it hard thinking up a slogan so I just searched "bully free slogans" and I found this one but in different works and I was like "that sound really great" so  did it :)

Do yo think it's easy to read? Is there enough colour? Please comment what you think of it.

My amazing reading

In reading we have been reading a school journal and doing activities for it. the journal stories we read was: Meme and Me, Captain cook, Ngā Tātarakihi o Parihaka and man and sea. The activties are some questions that you have to read the story to answer and me have to make a new dust cover for the story. We had to put all of the finished activities that we did into a doc and compeer our answer with our group. Here is my slide.😎

I find these stories easy to read but the questions are difficult and I fin it really interesting.

The best day in my Lifeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

WALT: Write a recount about ‘The Best Day Ever’: include details that make the reader feel like they were there when it happened.
in writing for the past week we have been writing a recount of the best day ever. My best day ever is about when I went horse riding with a friend. I tried to make it in the right order but I might have got a couple of things in the wrong order because it was a longish time ago. I haven't finished my story yet so dont judge me, OK.The highlighted things mean

here is my story:

“yaaaaay” I muttered excitedly and hung on for dare life, hearing the thunder of hooves. I heard Ella congratulate me and I felt as happy as i've ever been.

I sat in the back of Ella’s car thinking, nervously. I was extremely excited but also really scared. It was going to be the first time riding on one of Ella’s horses. As we pulled into the paddocks,. I looked around seeing a few paddocks with a couple of jumps and horses grazing.I was breathless. We parked up the car and Ella got out and started racing around filling the horses water, getting stuff out of the car, getting ready and pulling stuff out of bags. I stood there feeling awkward. “I don't know what to do”I said to Ella, laughing. “Don't worry we’re going catch Vinny now” she replied. I pulled on the boots , that Ella let me borrow, and jogged over to where Ella was standing. Then we walked into the paddock and up to Vinny. I started laughing because of vinny’s cute fluffy butt but then Ella showed me how to put on the halter and handed me the lead rope and showed me how to hold it. “This is fun” I thought smiling. We walked over to the fence where we tied up vinny and started to tacked him up. Ella showed me how to and I did the best that I could, which was pretty bad, but Ella said I did great.
Then I hopped up on the horse and started to warm him up. I stayed in walk for about three laps until ella was ready then she came up to me and asked if I was ready for a trot. I nodded nervously. I clicked my tongue and kick vinny on and he did this weird jump into the trot. The jump made me lose my stirrup. So I was trying to post as well as get my foot back in the stirrup. Vinny's trot was really weird because we were warming him up but I soon got used to it. But when ever I went to turn him he would stop. I felt like I was doing everything wrong and I got really flustered but I took a big breath and I calmed down. I squeezed him again and he started walking again.
“Do you reckon you could canter now” Ella asked walking along beside. “Um what do you do” I asked confused. “You just sit down in the saddle and don't post or anything and you’ll get thrown up a bit but It's fine”I took a deep breath and nodded nervously. Ella grabbed Vinny’s noseband and started running. Vinny started troting then all of a sudden his movement changed and I started getting thrown up but I sat down deeply and it wasn't that bad.I saw the grass turning slightly into a blur and gulped.  “Im doing it” I thought excitedly and hung on for dear life. I heard Ella congratulate me and I felt as happy as i've ever been. “Cantering is so fun” I thought but at the same time I said out loud “that was scary”. I heard vinny snort and I laughed. I cantered a few more times till I stopped and made Ella ride.
I walked over to the barrel jump and sat there, because Ella said Vinny can’t jump it yet. I was amazed at how good at riding ella was. I saw her at the end of the paddock trotting and cantering around to warm herself up. Then she turned to the jump and kicked vinny on. He cantered up to the jump but then he didnt jump knocked over the pole then did this weird jump. “That's a refusel and a jump” Ella called out and gave me the thumbs up. I gave the thumbs up back to her. I started to laugh and she laughed as well. Then she turned Vinny around and and tried again. This time vinny did a perfect jump. When Ella did the jumping circuit in the paddock I imaged Ella me and I smiled at that thought. Then Ella turned around and trotted up to me. I smiled as I heard Vinny’s heaving breathing. “Well done Ella, that was great” I gushed scratching vinny on the forehead.“Nah It wasn't my best work” Ella said laughing. “Can i go on him now” I asked patting vinny on his soft nose. “Yeah you can but I’ll just walk him around for a little bit so he can cool down” ella replied squeezing Vinny to walk around. I sat there dreaming of me having a horse until Ella pulled vinny up near me and got off.Then I hopped up on the horse and started to warm him up. I think I did a good job of writing everything in order and my punctuation. I think I could work on making my words better like upgrading my words

WALT: write a recount about a time when you had to eat something that you didn’t want to!
in writing for the past three days we have been writing a recount on when we had to eat something we didn't want to. But I couldn't think of ANYTHING to write about so Miss Keys said I can make something up. So its not really a recount but I wrote it like one. the highlighting means:
red=dialogue
orange=sound effects
yellow-past tense words.
green= thoughts and feelings
so here is my story. Enjoy

“Oh no, I clogged the toilet” I muttered trying to flush them down.
It all started when mum called us for dinner. I raced to the table and sat there eagerly waiting for mum to dish up the food. My smile slipped from my face as mum slid beans on my plate. I absolutely HATE beans. I use to like them when I was little but my taste buds changed. I made a grossed out face which mum spotted. “ you have to eat them Ammalina” she said passing out beans to everyone else. I stared at my plate in horror and glanced around to see if anyone was watching. I swiftly grabbed them and stuffed them into my pocket. “As smooth as a ninja” i thought smiling.
I finished off my dinner and snuck into the bathroom. I locked the door and walked over toilet. I emptied my pockets out and flushed the toilet. Nothing. “What's happening” I thought. I tried it again but the beans didn't go away. Then the water started rising and the toilet over flowed. “Uhhh” i said backing away. Mum knocked out the door “is everything ok in there?” she called out. “No” i answered. “I'm gonna come in, unlock the door” mum said nocking. “ um just a sec” I murmured. Ew I had to  get the beans out fast. I scrunched up my nose and plumaged my hand into the toilet. “Ew ew ew” i thought gagging. I chucked the beans in the bin and cover them with some toilet paper. I Looked at the water all over the floor and quickly unlocked the door. Mum barged in and looked at the mess on the floor and immediately started interrogating me.”what did you do?, why is it clogged, how did you do it?. Was it you who did it?” I thought mum would tell me off for telling the truth so I kept lying to her.
Once Mum had investigated the toilet she called a plumber. He came round as quick as he could and started working on the toilet.It took him only about ten minutes to find out what happened. He came out holding a single bean. “This is what was causing it.” I saw mum glance at me so I took off to my room. Then a herd the plumber leave and the flip flop of my mums jandles down the hall way. I tried to hide but I was too late. My Mum came walking in holding the wooden spoon. “ Im dead” I thought.

What Are Volcanoes?-My Amazing Explanation Writing!

WALT: Write an explanation using the correct structure.

What are volcanos?

A volcano is an opening in either a mountain or a ground which allows hot rock, ash, smoke, gases
and lava to breakout from below the surface through a pipe-like outlet called a vent. These eruptions
form a cone-shaped land form made of these materials. Volcanoes are really dangerous and hot when
they erupt and could kill or badly injure you. The gases that come out of the volcano can be really
dangerous for your lungs.

What are the parts to a volcano?

There are lots of parts to a volcano. The most important one is the magma chamber, It is located under
the earth's surface and this is where all the magma and gasses are stored. Next there is the earth crust
. The mountain is formed by the volcanoes old eruptions which is lava and ash. Going up through the hil
l is the pipe called the vent, which the lava comes up through. At the top of the hill there is the crater.

What is the difference between Lava and Magma?

Magma is made up of melted rocks and it is stored under the earth's crust in the magma chamber.
Lava is magma that reaches the surface of the earth through the vent.

How do volcanoes erupt?

The gas particles in the magma start to form bubbles and as the bubbles rise they start to expand.
Soon the bubble are to strong for the surrounding rock and the rocks fractures, allowing the magma
to get to the surface. Once at the surface the lava runs down the side of the hill, flowing quite fast, and
a big ash cloud forming over the hill.

I really liked writing this text but it was a bit hard because I didn't really know that much about volcanoes.

WALT: Write an explanation about how an object works.
in writing we were learning how to write explanation about how an object works. we got to chose an object from nine things. I chose the wheelbarrow. Her is my finished work

How does it work? A Wheelbarrow.

Firstly, the wheelbarrow was a stand or the legs. It has two them near the back of the wheelbarrow so then you can put it down and it won’t fall backwards.

Secondly, the wheelbarrow has a wheel so you can move it around easily. It make is so you can move dirt and stuff from place to place without having to carry it and hurt your arms.

Thirdly, it has two handles that you hold while you are carrying the wheelbarrow.

Lastly, you have the tray thing which is the main part of the wheelbarrow. The tray is for you to put the stuff in while you move it around.
